The quality assurance of product design is in failure prevention. In the initial stage of design, we rely on quality function deployment approach to turn them into design parameters and parts specifications. Through both internal and external certification process of integrating circuit board layout, product reliability, operating systems, and electromagnetic radiation, products will be designed according to the needs of customer. In terms of manufacturing quality control, we will seek the most economical method to reduce product variation and to ensure the uniformity of quality shipments through risk analysis and management, combined with statistical process control and sampling. After shipment, with manufacturing yield rate and market feedback information, plus EWG meeting to be convened by design and production departments, the quality checks will continue in order to implement the spirit of continuous improvement of the quality management system.

    The Taiwan headquarter and overseas employees are dedicated to optimize component Library, design stack up and specify PCB specification according to product spec and related knowledge and technology of PCM assembly/PCB.

    During product development, in order to provide optimal electrical design, CLD employs various database and programs developed by our own to optimize circuit layout.

    To analyze failure cases returned from production line and market through DMAIC method to identify root causes, provide the corrective action, and them implement continuous improvement action.


    Reliability engineering

    Wistron Reliability Engineering Division has set up reliability laboratory research centers and quality engineering laboratories in Taiwan headquarter and worldwide manufacturing sites. This allows flexibility in adjusting overseas laboratory resources and achieves a mutually supportive mechanism.

    Reliability Engineering

    Product reliability validating activities are introduced at the initial concept stage by taking into account the characteristics and functional requirements of each individual product. By collaborating with the R&D departments, the FMEA method is utilized with reliability failure model and risk assessment to minimize the potential risk of product failure. Through the application of reliability test plan in product validation stage, various simulations are targeted to test product functionality, user operations, transportation and storage environments. Combined with the failure analysis capabilities of our engineers, engineering changes can be quickly implemented to improve product reliability. After mass production, on-going reliability tests (ORT) are conducted on a regular basis to ensure products are delivered with high reliability. As for continuous improvement, market feedback is analyzed to determine the root causes and, with the help of statistical modeling technique, product survival rates are further analyzed and becomes the basis of refining reliability model parameters.


    Product certification Engineering

    This certification program provides certification and professional and technical consultation services in operating systems, audio and video communication transmission. At the product development stage, it will provide advice regarding the International Association interface standards, timing, and possible trend change for the operating system, communications transmission, digital video broadcasting. When a product is ready for certification, it is executed in accordance with the relevant product certification standards to ensure product compatibility.

    Product Certification Engineering

    This program is certified in accordance with standards established by the laboratory test specifications and is the industry's only dedicated certification team. Through long-term good working relations with operating systems companies, and technology associations, any certified laboratory test data provided by Wistron is also authorized as an official certification report. Through active participation in the technical development and testing programs and services, products can incorporate the latest technology in the shortest time to complete the design and production.

    Wistron also has accredited EMC/Safety/RF/Environmental laboratory in compliance with international regulations. Internally we support product design certification. Externally we provide certification services and regulatory approvals in almost 200 countries around the world. We have ample track record and experience in the applications so that our customers can obtain the required certification on time.

    Electromagnetic and Safety Engineering

    Electromagnetic and safety engineering provides global safety certification services in product design concerning electromagnetic compatibility and safety engineering, wireless communications and energy-saving. In the early stages of product design-in accordance with international regulations, customer-requested specifications, product categories, and local regulatory requirements-we develop complete product design proposals to enable engineers to proceed with the design of circuit boards, device housings, electrical and mechanical parts, and so on. The product then undergoes the design certification process to verify that its quality meets customer expectations and international regulations. In addition, through the project review process, the design proposal is further updated through additional random tests conducted in accordance with production and market feedback data, in order to prevent the recurrence of any problems.
